What is Active Learning?

Active learning is often applied to artificial intellence and machine learning in which a learning algorithm can interactively query an information source or oracle and then label new data points with specific outputs. It may also sometimes be referred to as optimal experimental design because it aims to improve the design through experimentation and learnings acquired in the optimization process.
