What are desired outcomes?

Desired outcomes describe the goal of an experiment or optimization and usually align with broader business goals. For example: A business targeting growth may look to increase their average order value (AOV) or their conversion rates. Desired outcomes may also include identifying points of friction in the customer journey and align to metrics such as reducing cart abandonment. It is important to define the desired outcomes of an optimization from the start to ensure all efforts align to achieve them.
